| The RiverCity Company is a private, not-for-profit corporation with a combined annual budget of approximately $2 million. RiverCity's Board of Directors is made up of the City and County Mayors, the Chairs of the City Council and the County Commission and community leaders.

History
RiverCity was created in 1986 to implement the Tennessee Riverpark Master Plan, Chattanooga's 20-year, 22-mile blueprint for riverfront and downtown development. RiverCity was originally capitalized with $12 million from eight local foundations and seven local financial institutions.

Mission
The RiverCity Company will ensure a vibrant and attractive downtown that is the economic, social and cultural centerpiece of the Chattanooga region by developing downtown real estate, making and programming great urban spaces and employing creative urban design.
